Hi, I’m Abby Armada.
Abby Armada is a painter based on Long Island, working primarily in oils. Her practice moves between the studio and the outdoors, painting from life whenever possible and finding that direct observation keeps her work grounded and honest. Her plein air sessions inform her studio paintings, lending them a quality of light and presence that is hard to manufacture from memory alone.
Her current body of work focuses on the intimate, often overlooked moments of parenting and early childhood. She is drawn to ordinary domestic scenes and the way small things, a toy on the floor, a shaft of afternoon light, can carry enormous emotional weight.
Abby completed the Painting Studies program through RISD:CE in May 2026.
